Normally, a different damper fluid viscosity is required to handle each of these shock types-something that's impossible to accomplish with traditional damper designs.

But Sony's Super Suspension incorporates a new design using small bumps inside the damper to control the fluid's behavior. The fluid is thin enough to handle slow shocks and when a quick shock comes, the bumps slow down the fluid, making it behave like a thicker fluid. So the suspension can handle all shocks equally well.
