Max power

The maximum power, measured in watts, generated by an amplifer, into a specific impedance. Typically, max power ratings do not include supply voltage, distortion or test duration specs as a factor. Additionally, measurements are taken with a narrow frequency band as the input signal.
Max power ratings can vary between manufacturers. While the specification is useful in comparing power ratings within one brand, an RMS or Ad Hoc power rating is more accurate for comparisons between manufacturers. |
