Active Thermal Control

Have you ever had a customer complain that their music stopped playing because the amplifier shutdown from overheating? Active Thermal Control prevents shutdown due to overheating, so the music keeps playing. As the amplifier approaches its thermal limitation, the power supply voltage is gradually reduced to return the unit to a safe level. Once the amplifier has cooled off, it will automatically return the power supply voltage to the previous level. This process is indicated with the green and orange LED on the top of the amplifier.

Green = Normal Operation

Orange = Active Thermal Control Operation
