Prepare yourself for wireless freedom at your fingertips. The Sony MEX-BT2500 is your answer to Bluetooth functionality and a full-featured CD receiver all at a great value.

Hands-free Talking
Wouldn’t it be convenient to just push a button on your CD receiver when you hear your phone ringing, rather than searching for it under a seat or having to pull a circus-like contortionist move to remove it from your pocket? With the MEX-BT2500, all you have to do is press the volume knob to receive or end a call — it’s that simple.

In just a few easy steps, you can be on your way to wireless freedom. You must first register (“pair”) the Bluetooth device (cellular phone, etc.) with the MEX-BT2500. Once pairing is established, there is no need for pairing again.

First, press the “OFF” button so that the clock or demonstration appears and place the Bluetooth device within 3ft of the unit. Press and hold the “EQ/BLUETOOTH” button until the Bluetooth logo flashes (about 7 seconds). “XPLOD” will appear in the display of the connecting device. Set the Bluetooth device to connect to the MEX-BT2500 and you’re ready to talk. When a call comes in, the audio will be muted and will be heard through your speakers. Get more information.

Wireless Music Streaming
Along with hands-free talking capabilities, the MEX-BT2500 also allows for Bluetooth music streaming. Just set the Source on the MEX-BT2500 to “BT AUDIO” and start playing the music on your Bluetooth audio device — that’s it. Now you can rock out without worrying about the clutter caused by auxiliary wires.

The latest music phones and players will take advantage of Bluetooth technology to enable a world free of connecting cables and auxiliary inputs. The MEX-BT2500 will have you ready to integrate the latest gear and enjoy seamless connectivity with new music players. You can even access convenient controls for essential features, like play and pause, over any wirelessly connected source.

Bluetooth Technology
Bluetooth technology is how mobile phones, computers and personal digital assistants (PDAs), not to mention a broad selection of other devices, can be easily interconnected using a short range 2.4 GHz wireless connection — it’s the wave of the future. With this technology, you can connect your Bluetooth phone or audio device to the MEX-BT2500 without any wires.

Supported Bluetooth Profiles
The MEX-BT2500 supports the following Bluetooth Profiles — HFP 1.0 (Hands Free Profile), HSP (Headset Profile), A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) and AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile). With the HFP profile, you can connect your Bluetooth phone to the MEX-BT2500, or a Bluetooth headset, thanks to the HSP profile. A2DP allows for wireless streaming of Bluetooth enabled audio devices and control of the device via the AVRCP Bluetooth profile.

Sony CD Receiver
If you’re wondering how this could get any better, just add a great sounding Sony CD receiver to the list. Built-in EQ Lite will help you to fine-tune your music just how you like it, giving you the ultimate listening experience. MP3 and WMA playback enables you to burn a hundreds of songs onto a CD-R or CD-RW reducing the amount of CDs in your car.

The MEX-BT2500 also employs the same Drive-S technology found in all of the Sony CD receivers. Designed to improve sound quality and durability, Drive-S includes an improved suspension to resist shocks, a low-current pickup that improves CD playback accuracy and a 52W x 4 S-MOSFET Power IC that produces clearer, more accurate sound and less distortion. With the Drive-S chassis, you’ll be getting improved durability and excellent sound quality, with the industry’s highest S/N ratio -120dB. You’ll hear the difference.

Portable Audio Connectivity
Sony makes it easier than ever to connect most portable audio devices to the MEX-BT2500 by including a front panel auxiliary input. With just a simple mini-jack cable, most portable audio players or portable DVD players can be plugged into a Sony mobile audio system. The SOURCE control on the front panel is used to cycle to the AUX source, full range audio is transferred directly into the unit, and volume is controlled through the front panel volume control.
