Key Feature: Front Panel AUX IN or AUX Lite
|
|
Sony makes it easier than ever to connect most portable audio devices to your car audio system by adding a front panel auxiliary input. With just a simple mini-jack cable, most portable audio players or portable DVD players can be plugged into a Sony mobile audio system. This feature is included on all the new 2007 CDX-GT series head units from the CDX-GT110 all the way through the CDX-GT510. The SOURCE control on the front panel is used to cycle to the AUX source, full range audio is transferred directly into the unit, and volume is controlled through the CDX-GT front panel volume control. |

Features And Benefits Of The Sony®
CDX-GT Series CD Receivers
| Feature | Benefit |
| SSIR-EXA AM/FM Tuner | The SSIR-EXA tuner circuitry can actually adjust the tuner’s bandwidth automatically. This ensures optimal performance in both congested and sparsely populated FM areas. |
| Built In High Power Output | 4 Channels of high power will do exceptionally well on most factory speakers as well as Sony replacement coaxial speakers. This allows the customer to expand their system in steps if they so choose. |
| Front Panel Aux Input | All new 2007 CDX-GT series head units feature a front panel “mini-jack” for connection to portable media players such as iPod or MP3 players. |
| Multiple Format Playback | Commercially recorded CDs, “Burned” CD-R discs with MP3 or WMA (all models except CDX-GT110 – which still plays CD-R/RW, and an even wider range of options with the CDX-GT510 playing ATRAC3plus™ and AAC files. |
| 24 bit D/A Converter | The 24 bit D/A conversion allows for increased accuracy in playback over a wide range of media formats and compression rates than other products in this category. |
| 2 Volt, 220 Ohm Preamp Outputs (CDX-GT310/GT510) |
Adding amplifiers is easy with preamp outputs, but not all preamp outputs offer the same output capability. Starting with the CDX-GT310, the units feature 2 Volt signal levels with 220 Ohm source impedance. The voltage level translates to plenty of signal in the connecting cables to eliminate the propensity of noise or interference when connecting an amplifier in the trunk or under the seats. The 220 Ohm source impedance means you can run plenty of additional amplifiers without degrading the quality of the audio signal. |
| DSO (CDX-GT510) |
Dynamic Soundstage Organizer (DSO) circuitry induces subtle phase shift in the preamp output, different in each output channel, to simulate a sound source that is wider in origin – essentially extending the perceived boundary of the car. Further, the frequency response in a section of the sound is altered to further enhance the perception that the sound is originating from a point higher up than it actually is. These two factors combine to seemingly raise the sound stage, and spread it wider across the dash, even if the speakers are mounted low in the doors. The result of DSO is a better front stage even if the speakers are mounted in locations that are low in the vehicle! |
| EQ3, EQ3 Stage 2 | Seven different presets offer a wide variety of solutions to different sound reproduction challenges found in the automotive
environment, and each preset can be fine tuned for optimal performance in every application and installation. Each preset focuses on different
areas of the audio spectrum, and the center equalization frequencies change according to the specific needs of the individual music types
identified by the preset name.

| CD Changer Control (CDX-GT310/GT510) |
CD changer control has the capacity to control the functions of a CD changer using the front panel controls. The two components communicate with each other through UniLink™, Sony’s remote component control system architecture. Up to 7 CD and/or other UniLink™ components can be wired into the audio system, all of which communicate with each other. The use of multiple changers requires the addition of an XA-C40, a UniLink™ multi-changer adapter. Other components, such as the XA-300 auxiliary input adapter, or the RM-X55M remote control panel, come equipped with a UniLink™ pass-thru, so no additional adapters are required if these are added to an existing system. |
| CD TEXT™ Support (CDX-GT210/310/510) |
CD TEXT™ information (album title, artist name and track titles) are included on many CD releases. Sony CD TEXT™ CDX-GT Series models display this information right on the front panel. With CD TEXT™, you avoid the task of entering titles for the discs. It’s already done for you by the CD manufacturer. If a changer is part of the system and it has CD TEXT™ capability, Memo List can be used to view the names of the discs in the changer and select them for playback. |
| Wireless Remote Control (CDX-GT310/510) |
The RM-X151 wireless remote design is compact, but it has real buttons, rather than the membrane-style that’s often incorporated into remotes this small. The result? A remote that’s small enough to fit comfortably in almost anyone’s hand, with the sophisticated ergonomic feel that allows it to be used while keeping your eyes on the road. |
