2006 SEMA Show
The 2006 SEMA Show was an absolute knockout. Sony's Mobile Electronics booth featured hot new 2007 Xplōd and Marine products. There was even a
fully-loaded Scion xA equipped with the first ever mobile installation of the Playstation®3 (PS3™) computer entertainment system. Attendees could view a demo of Gran Turismo™ HD. This Scion xA was one of 24 customized whips parked by the 14 new featured Xplōd products.
Introducing new Team Xplōd member, Marco Patino at his first Sony SEMA Booth appearance. His 1965 Buick Riviera Gran Sport is an authentic low rider classic with is lay-and-display hydraulics and multiple wheels/tire combinations. There's four Xplōd amps and three pairs of 2-way speakers in this bad boy – it'll blow you away.
Veteran Team Xplōd members, Shawn Bennett and Rodney Findley were also back in the booth this year showcasing their new cars – a 2006 Porsche Cayman S and a Dodge Ram 2500 Heavy Duty. You've got to see these.
Get ready to crank up the volume with our new GT Series component speakers, a perfect match for the GT series headunits. Four new models round out the lineup: the XS-GT6935A (6x9-inches), XS-GT1625A (6.5-inches), XS-GT1325A (5.25-inches) and XS-GT5725A (5x7-inches). The GT Series speakers will be available in January 2007.
We've also released new capless subwoofers. These subs deliver low frequency bass as well as a new capless design on the back, allowing for more style options when installing. Three models are available: the XS-L154P5B subwoofer (15-inch), XS-L124P5B subwoofer (12-inch) and XS-L104P5B subwoofer (10-inch).
For those of you lacking space in your ride, we've released a new line of subwoofers and amplifiers – the Slim Series. Featured in the Scion xA, these slim subs and amps take up less room and are a great fit in both pick-up trucks and sport compact vehicles.
On our Marine side, we've got a loaded Malibu Wakesetter to showoff our new products. There's a new splash-proof headunit, the CDX-HS70MW, a marine subwoofer, the XS-L100P5M, and a marine amp, the XM-604M ready to make your wet n' wild weekend more exciting. The Wakesetter was on display at Sony's "toy world" outside of door 21 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
